High Heeled Medical Mayhem, or Thoughts on Nurse 3D

Take the scary nurses from Silent Hill (2006), add the Elle Driver hospital scene from Kill Bill Vol 1 (2003), Lucy Danzinger from Boardwalk Empire and throw in a blender along with a couple Lady Gaga videos and you’ll get an approximation of the naughty fun/guilty pleasure that is Nurse 3D (2013).  A glossy, modern erotic thriller reminiscent of The Neon Demon (2016) follows Abby Russell, a sultry Manhattan nurse and dominatrix serial killer as she ensnares cheating husband and obsesses over co-workers.
Paz de la Huerta, who you may also remember as Linda in Enter the Void (2009), has an easy, mid-century sensuality that comes across, if we are to believe the tabloids, as more of a lifestyle/recreational choice than any actual acting style.  Nevertheless she has an almost tangible heat as Abby and slinks across the screen like she’s channeling Nastassja Kinski in Cat People (1982), or a female Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (2000).
With Katrina Bowden from Piranha 3DD (2012) and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) as Danni, the object of Abby’s affection and the impossibly handsome Boris Kodjoe from Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) as a friendly detective.  Also watch out for Kathleen Turner, who has some experience playing femme fatales, as the Betty, the Head Nurse and Judd Nelson as a sexist doctor.
